Development of Tide Efficient Gangway (TEG)
Project Description
Presently, IN has Gangways which are affected by tidal variations and makes personnel/material transfer difficult/unsafe during high and low tide due to inclined position of the gangway. This gets further aggravated during rains, as the rain water makes the brow slippery when stores/items need to be carried onboard.
The Proposed Tide Efficient Gangway is envisaged to reduce human effort during embarking/dis-embarking of personnel and stores onboard a ship and multi fold increase in operational efficiency whilst ensuring enhancement of safety.
The proposed Tide Efficient Gangway will be Safe and easy operation compared to existing Gangway.
